Although the Schiecentrale 4b building just missed out on winning the Building Quality Prize in 2009 in a photo finish, the project does score highest with GPR, a method for measuring sustainability in housing construction.

‘The jury highly values the fiercely experimental Schiecentrale. This experimental building definitely belongs in Rotterdam and could be nowhere else. The open floor plans and conceptual choices in materials will appeal to exactly the type of public this building is intended for.’
