The 26th of September, an Architectenweb symposium will take place in Pakhuis de Zwijger on the topic of ‘Working and living in the manufacturing city’. Because in the major cities in the Netherlands, all kinds of initiatives are underway to successfully combine the housing of manufacturing companies with a highly urban residential programme. Such as the Binckhorst in The Hague, the Merwedekanaal zone in Utrecht, the Campina site in Eindhoven and Schieoevers Noord in Delft. The symposium therefore focuses on the question: how can we retain manufacturing companies in the densifying city?
The programme, consisting of lectures, pitches and panel discussions, starts at 13.30. At 16.10, Robert Winkel joins the table to talk about the Kabeldistrict. Afterwards, the symposium will be available to watch online via this link.
