Urban planning and architecture are for Mei a means to create inclusive living environments for both people and nature. In a time when space is scarce, resources are under pressure, and social and ecological challenges are accumulating, the living environment calls for an integrated approach. Mei tackles this task with enthusiasm, knowledge, and common sense.
We translate our knowledge of biobased and industrial construction into future-proof solutions with minimal CO₂ emissions, in line with the Paris climate goals. With a multidisciplinary team, we develop innovative concepts and demonstrate that sustainable, climate-positive urban development is striking and feasible. Our design methodology starts with the human. We design from eye level and create meaningful places that invite use and engagement. Because it is precisely that long-term connection of residents and users that determines the future value of an area. Based on our core values, we work with attention to biodiversity, circularity, and the community of tomorrow. Clear urban planning frameworks safeguard the spatial quality and character of a place, while at the same time allowing room for initiative and new insights.
From our combined expertise in urban planning and architecture, we work simultaneously on different scales. This integrated approach enables us to create coherence in area developments. Mei works on a variety of area concepts, integrated master plans, and visual quality plans: from inner-city densification projects and the transformation of industrial areas to landscape and ecological developments.
