As of January 2017, Michiel van Loon and Robert Platje are full associates of Mei architects and planners. They know the Mei culture like no other. For this reason, they will, together with founding partner Robert Winkel, carry out all responsibilities that come with the growing amount of projects that Mei is involved with, both in the Netherlands and across the borders. They are ready to take on the challenge, and keep on offering innovative and sustainable solutions of architectural value, that naturally stimulate the formation of healthy living- and working communities.
Robert has been working at Mei as project manager and construction technologist since 2000. He is BREEAM-NL expert and visiting critic at the TU Delft. Among other projects, Robert has been responsible for the technical execution of the Verkenner tower in Utrecht. At the moment he is project leader of Fenix I in Katendrecht, an extensive transformation and new build project, completely executed in BIM.
Michiel has been working at Mei since 2012. Michiel’s portfolio contains, among others, the award winning McDonalds pavilion on the Coolsingel in Rotterdam and the Fenix I. He is currently working on the redevelopment of the OPG-site in Utrecht and the transformation of the Orphanage in Gouda into a luxurious hotel and apartments. Michiel often gives lectures.
The photo of Robert Platje, Robert Winkel, and Michiel van Loon was taken at the construction site of Fenix I, the ‘work in progress’ in which all three are intensely involved.
