I work at Mei because of Mei’s expertise on heritage transformations, which I find fascinating. Instead of demolishing the existing, you can also transform it, preserving and continuing its historical legacy while also providing solutions for contemporary problems. This way of working with existing buildings creates meaningful and inspiring architecture.
My favorite building is Peter Zumthor’s Kolumba museum in Köln, where the old and new are unified through carefully chosen material. The careful design pays a lot of attention to the old cathedrals history and character. The attention to minimalistic details are very well developed in this project, which I find remarkable.
I am proud of my accomplishment of finishing my master in Architecture at TU Delft and the experience I’ve gained through my internships in the far east: Shanghai and Singapore.
