associate partner/architect

I work at Mei because of the great diversity of projects. I regularly alternate between large projects as Fenix Lofts and working on concept studies and competitions.

My favorite building is the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin by Mies van der Rohe.

I am proud of my contribution to the new McDonald’s Pavilion at the Coolsingel. In this project I designed every little detail and I managed the project during construction. Thanks to the excellent cooperation with the client, the result – “the fanciest McDonald’s in the world ‘- is also something to be proud of.

Michiel has been working at Mei since 2012, as project architect. He became associate partner in 2017. In 2007 Michiel graduated from the Technical College in Tilburg and in 2011 he completed his Master of Architecture at Delft University with honors. During and after his studies, Michiel gained experience in various domestic and foreign architect studios. In addition, Michiel has acted as guest speaker and as external graduation evaluator at the Avans Hogeschool in Tilburg.
