BuitenGoed Zeist builds on the unique identity of this special place. Historically, it was a spot where people, nature, and community were connected. From the former training school, an environment emerged where care for each other, learning, and living in the landscape were central. Those values still inspire the development of BuitenGoed Zeist today.

Green, healthy and connected
The development focuses on enhancing the existing green and scenic qualities. BuitenGoed Zeist will become a place where residents and neighbors can meet, relax, and enjoy the outdoors. There will be attractive green areas for a variety of uses: from walking and playing to meeting up and spending time outdoors.
The new neighborhood will offer a healthy living environment for people of all ages, for those who are active as well as those who need care. We also aim for a diverse range of housing, so BuitenGoed Zeist is accessible for different groups and income levels.
A new neighbourhood with respect for the past
The urban planning design builds on the existing structure of the area. For example, the current underground parking garage will be reused. At the same time, we are moving away from the current concept of a single large office complex. Instead, a lively residential environment will be created, with a mix of homes and buildings that together form a recognizable whole.
Space, greenery, and good connections are central to this. The landscape serves as the backbone of the development. The park-like layout on the east side, the wooded northern edge, and the connection to the open landscape on the west side will be preserved and strengthened. In addition, new green, communal courtyards will be added to encourage socializing and lingering.
From office location to green living environment
The relationship between the buildings and the outdoor space is also being redefined. The focus is on creating a pleasant transition between inside and outside, in line with the living quality and the surrounding landscape. This means the current appearance of a closed office location is giving way to an open, green, and contemporary neighborhood that truly becomes part of Zeist.
