Mei designs a modern and sustainable office complex of 10.000 m2 on the Asterweg in Amsterdam. The complex consists of two building volumes – Max and Moore – that are connected by bridge construction. Fitting with the existing industrial feel of the area Buiksloterham, Max and Moore will have a robust and rugged appearence. The building will meet the latest sustainability criteria in order to obtain a BREEEAM Excellent certificate. A thermal energy storage system will be combined with PV panels on the roof and in the facade. The inclusion of nature is an integral part of the design as the aim is to create a green work environment. Roof terraces and winter gardens provide nearly all floors with unique outdoor spaces.
Construction is expected to start early 2020. Until then, the location of Max & Moore is used by the pop-up Oumuamua, a place that connects work, good food and culture.
