Fenix I has been rewarded ‘Best of Best’ in the Residential Building category of the ICONIC AWARDS 2020!
The jury expressed their enthusiasm for the transformed dockyard warehouse:
‘Integration of the historic dock warehouse in the project succeeded at a high formal design level. The striking structure, with its cubic, rhythmically arranged residential units is reminiscent of containers stacked on top of each other on a cargo ship. A fascinating association that optically establishes a bridge between contemporary building architecture and the container-loaded ships in the harbour and in this way makes the boundaries disappear.’
The ICONIC AWARDS for Innovative Architecture is an international competition for architects and designers, awarded by the German Design Council.
